Somebody stole my processors cache …

Back with another great l-user story.
Does anyone remember those old days where the PC has a 486 processor ? Well this is something that happened to someone while working at a store. And of course it’s about someone who does not know nothing about computers.
It was the time when Intel just launched their Pentium MMX processor I think. Someone came to that store and bought a brand new PC. Everything was fine, the computer worked perfectly and the customer was happy about his acquisition.
But, as all things have to happen … the customer returns the second day. He said that the computer he bought is incomplete , that he was mislead by the sales person. With him, another “connoisseur ” in computers. And what is missing ? The computer’s CACHE !!!. What the heck … try to explain to him that this type of processor has the cache build in, but no, he must have that old piece of hardware that is placed in the slot for the cache.
Okay, my friend says to him. “Mister, if you show me where the cache must be placed on this type of motherboard than I will pay for your computer.” So, the customer looks and the other one too. Well, surprise , surprise , not slot for the card. And of course no card for that type motherboard. Tough luck.
Had he known that, that would have spared his and my friends time. But, some people are met to be l-Users for ever.
