[Video Tutorial] Adobe Photoshop

Video tutorials are one of the most efficient and easy ways to learn new skills, especially when it comes to software such as Photoshop. In fact, a video tutorial is one step away from having a tutor sit right next to you and tell you exactly how to use the software! Unlike text based tutorials which can become mundane and time consuming, video tutorials offer an alternative that’s easy, fast and doesn’t make you fall asleep.
As a university student doing Multimedia subjects, Adobe Photoshop was part of my course. I had to learn, not only how to use the basics, but master some advanced skills for editing photos as well as skills relating to web development. I did a semester subject in Adobe Photoshop, which included me attending dozens of lectures and sitting at home for hours playing around with the program.
Nevertheless, I believe that I didn’t learn anything that someone from home couldn’t have learned in a matter of hours using an online video tutorial. The reason behind this is that I felt many hours of my learning experience were wasted on assignments and lectures—some things in the lectures I already knew, while others I had to figure out by myself at home. On top of this, a university course is overly expensive when compared to a video tutorial!
Although there are millions of text tutorials available on the internet for free—the majority are time consuming and limited. There are many tips and tricks that you won’t be told unless you specifically know what you’re looking for. The key is to get an all round tutorial that will teach you all the basics of Photoshop—not just random specific skills that most text tutorials cover. So grab a video tutorial instead!
