Who stole my hard disk space ?

Another friend of mine worked at a computer store. And this is what happened to him 
One day someone comes to the store wanting to buy a 500GB hard disk. So, he tells him what the offer is, what brands do they have. The person chooses one , pays for it and leaves home , very happy that he now has a bigger storage. Only to come back , a few hours latter , and makes a big fuss over the fact that he is missing some space. My friend checks to see if he did not give him a smaller disk instead. Nope, that was not the case , the disk was indeed a 500GB one.
But no, the buyer keeps telling him that he is missing about 23 GB of space , that he only has 477GB and not 500 as the label says.
SO my friend starts to explain to him that in fact he has a 500Gb disk but because of the way a bit and a byte are defined makes up for the missing disk space. But no, the person starts yelling that he wants his money back , that he got cheated. My friend gets a little nervous, makes a refund and tells him to go somewhere else where he would find a hdd with all the space.
That person leaves the store, only to come back in an hour to buy the hard disk again, since that store had the best offer. He apologized for his behavior stating that he did not know.
Maybe someone should make a press conference and inform everyone about that little thing.
