I’m usually well aware of the latest news and releases in the linux world, but today I found myself a little bit confused. I was searching for an update for a little tool that I use on the linux box that serves as a basic router and I found my package with the FC8 extension. Hey, what happened ? Fedora Core 8 ? A just remember upgrading last month to FC7 and now 8 ? I immediately accessed the Fedora Core Official Page and found that the 8th version has been released. Looks like I’m behind my news. Looks like the Fedora Core Team decided to launch a new version. Maybe it’s because the 7th version was not that well accepted ? I know I had my troubles with the upgrade, that’s why I decided to upgrade after 5 month of the original release ( 20-Apr-2007 ) . Looks like they could use a better marketing plan, maybe use the San Diego Internet marketing team. Why should they release 2 versions in one year. I don’t like it. I wonder when will they release a new version for the enterprise solution RedHat Enterprise Linux 6 ?
